Femundløpet starts its dog teams from Kjerkgott in Røros, filling the historic mountain town with sleds, handlers, and spectators in February. This multi-day sled dog race series includes classes from the long F650 to F450, F200, and FJunior, accommodating both serious distance racers and younger competitors.
The race extends from Røros into the nearby mountain area, with the event site active for six days as participants arrive to compete, support teams, and observe. Barnas Femundløp in Elverum offers children and families a practical introduction to the sport, where over 350 children and adults engage in dog sledding and interact with the dogs. The organizers also developed LiveRace.no with Raske Poter AS, providing the race with its own platform for event tracking and race logistics.
