KINGS Backyard Ultra

At Kings Backyard Ultra, runners start the same 6.71 km loop at Barge Showgrounds in Whangārei at the top of every hour. The event takes place over Kings Birthday Weekend and follows the backyard ultra format: complete the lap within the hour, then rest or refuel with the remaining time before starting the next lap when the new hour begins. There is no predetermined finish distance or time; the race concludes only when a single runner is the last participant capable of finishing a lap.
