Rugged Rogaine 5 challenges participants to "explore the beautiful Waikato countryside," selecting their own paths and navigating paddocks and trees as a dynamic puzzle, not a set course. Expect varied terrain, choices at each intersection, and the consistent effort to "find as many controls as they can" within the time limit. Solo runners, teams, Men, Women, Mixed, and Junior categories are welcome, allowing for competitive or relaxed paces. All participants engage in "practice map reading and navigation" while undertaking a substantial run.
