The Nocny Bieg Swietojanski is a night cross-country race held in Sielinko, near Opalenica in western Poland, organized by Opalenicki Klub Biegacza. Participants begin at 9:00 PM, as dusk settles and volunteers line the route holding torches. Even at this late hour, conditions can be challenging: one description notes the air was stuffy and muggy throughout.
The course is largely unpaved and sandy, making it unsuitable for easy road racing. It is best suited for runners who can manage loose terrain, warm evening air, and a demanding finish after dark. Local club runners and training partners are prominent in the race's history: Darek Ruta finished near the front, with Bartosz and Jacek Zerbst following shortly after. Slawomir Drgas was the first full member of the Chyzak group to finish. One runner's experience focused on running alongside Kamila Bielawa, attempting to match her pace, and then observing Kamila's final sprint; both later reached the podium in their age category.
