Śląskie Święto Rowerzysty begins at the Pelikany sculpture in Park Śląski and proceeds as a free group ride through the Upper Silesian conurbation. It is not a competition; Gliwice characterizes it as the region's largest non-sport cycling event, accessible to anyone with an ID card, driving license, or bicycle license. The ride is coordinated by the Rowerowe Gliwice association alongside other local cycling groups, and it has been held since 2018 to advocate for the bicycle as daily transport and unite cycling enthusiasts. The complete route spans approximately 35 km, traveling from Chorzów via Bytom and Zabrze before concluding at the Market Square in Gliwice. Participants may complete the entire distance or join at designated points along the route, such as Park Śląski, Bytom's Park Miejski, Zabrze's Plac Wolności, and subsequent locations within Gliwice. The ride utilizes regular city streets, resulting in brief traffic delays for drivers as the group passes.
