YoungRun is an obstacle cross-country run in Ląd nad Wartą, within the Nadwarciański Landscape Park. The primary race covers 8 km and features over 20 obstacles, while the children’s race is 1.4 km with approximately 10 obstacles. The adult event is open to participants aged 15 to 99. The race schedule includes a joint warm-up before the children’s start and the main race at noon. It is organized by the Salesians of Don Bosco, with the event focusing on both sport and a local community gathering.
The start and finish are located on the “island” in Ląd nad Wartą, near the Post-Cistercian Monastery, a Historical Monument that the event also helps promote. YoungRun is held in memory of Marcel Zięba and incorporates prayer and a moment of silence, giving it a more personal character than a typical obstacle race. It also raises funds for children requiring treatment and rehabilitation, such as Olek Ptaszyński from Słupca. Families are also part of the audience, with activities beyond the races, and the broader program can extend over three days of sports and spiritual events.
