4º Iron Trail

Iron Trail is a trail running event based at the Pavilhão Desportivo de Albogas in Albogas, Sintra, Portugal, with staggered morning starts in July. It offers a 30 km long trail, a 17 km short trail, an 11 km mini trail, and an 11 km walk, so runners and walkers can choose between a harder race and a more relaxed outing. The event is organized by Associação Desportiva Trilhos do Costume with local support, and entries are for adults aged 18 or over. The routes use natural trails, rural paths, forest tracks, and footpaths around the Serra de Monfirre, with enough climbing to make the longer distances demanding. The area gives the race a strong local identity, because the course is built around Albogas landscapes, geological features, and village traditions rather than road running. The event mixes competitive trail runners with recreational participants, and its rules put clear weight on safety, fair play, respect for athletes, and care for the environment.
