AQUAE BRUNHEIRO TRAIL RUNNING 2026

Aquae Brunheiro Trail Running is a trail race series in Chaves, northern Portugal. The series starts in Vilar de Nantes and finishes in Chaves. The programme includes an Ultra Trail of approximately 48 km, plus 30 km, 21 km, and 12 km trail races. A 12 km walk and age-based Kids Trail distances are also offered. Most races are for athletes 18 and over, with the Mini Trail and Kids Trail providing categories for younger runners. The routes traverse the trails of Serra do Brunheiro before returning to Chaves. Associação Lobos do Brunheiro de Chaves organizes the event, which is certified by major trail-running bodies and is part of Portugal’s National Trail Circuit. Results contribute to ATRP national circuits and UTMB and ITRA indexes. Consequently, the event attracts runners seeking ranking points, alongside local trail runners, walkers, and families. This is the third edition of the race, with a new distance added to the schedule.
