Corrida da Liberdade Lisboa is a running series in Lisbon, held every April to mark the Carnation Revolution. The main timed race is 11 km, starting in Pontinha and finishing at Praça dos Restauradores, where all distances end. Shorter options of 5 km, 2.5 km, and 1 km are available for adults, families, newer runners, and those who want to join the public celebration.
The 11 km route descends from the higher ground around Pontinha toward central Lisbon, offering a fast pace for much of the course, though footing varies. Runners transition from road asphalt to Portuguese pavement and limestone sections near the historic finish area; polished stone can be slippery, particularly around tighter turns by Restauradores. The tunnels on Avenida da República present a minor challenge with sudden gradient changes, requiring runners to adjust their stride. FCDL and ACCL organize the race, with age groups ranging from seniors through 70-plus categories.
