Σχετικά με τον αγώνα
Pisão Extreme is a mountain trail and skyrunning race held in São Pedro do Sul, Viseu District, Portugal, with recent editions taking place in winter and autumn. The race utilizes the Serra da Arada and provides distances ranging from 15 km to 85 km, allowing participants to choose between a challenging short trail or a full ultra. The longer races are demanding: the 60 km option includes 6000 metres of elevation gain, and the 85 km route features 8000 metres of climbing in a single loop.
The course is circular and steep, with the organizer noting an average gradient of 20%. Bioparque Carvalhais has been a starting point, and the event is managed by SpotCriavo Eventos in conjunction with the Municipality of São Pedro do Sul. Pisão Extreme is included in the ATRP Circuit and has been featured on Portuguese trail calendars since at least 2013. The race incorporates local mountain folklore, referencing traditions, rituals, myths, and legends associated with the Serra da Arada; one edition was notably nicknamed the "Strawberry Edition."
