RUN4 CHILDREN | ALMADA FORUM is a solidarity sports event in Almada, Portugal. The race starts at Almada Forum and finishes at Parque da Paz. It takes place in late May and is in its second edition, giving it the feel of a developing community event. The main race is a 10 km road run for adults, with a 1 hour 30 minute time limit, a timing chip, aid stations at the halfway point and the finish, and awards for the top three male and female finishers.
The event includes activities beyond running. There is a 5 km Solidarity Ride, a 5 km Family Walk and Dog Walk known as the Cãominhada, and a 500-meter Mini Champions race for children aged 6 to 12. The shorter events provide support at the finish line, and all participants receive a medal and a digital diploma. The Play4 Children Association is the organizer, Xistarca manages the technical aspects, and proceeds benefit Play4 Children’s social initiatives. This inclusive approach explains the presence of cyclists, families, children, and dog walkers alongside the competitive 10 km runners.
