Ultra Maratona Caminhos Do Tejo is a trail race held in Santarém, Portugal, offering two single-loop distances: 57 km and 144 km. Taking place in early June, it is known as “The Queen of the Tagus.” The 144 km route presents a challenging ultra with 1,580 m of elevation gain and 1,260 m of loss. The 57 km option also demands significant effort from participants, featuring 1,220 m of climbing and 980 m of descent.
The courses trace the Tagus River, crossing natural landscapes and wooded areas. This race utilizes a city-to-city format instead of a confined circuit. The 57 km race is the preferred option for most participants, whereas the 144 km course provides seasoned trail runners with the complete long-distance challenge. Both distances are included in the UTMB Index, allowing finishers to contribute to that ranking system.
