Skatås ryggar 2026

Skatås ryggar guides runners across five, four, or two ridges in the natural terrain a few kilometers from central Gothenburg. This trail race encircles Skatås, Delsjöområdet, and Knipeflågsbergen, offering youth categories for ages 10-16 alongside adult distances. The event takes place annually near the beginning of June, and the organizers promote it as Gothenburg's largest trail competition. The route crosses the ridges of the Delsjöområdet and Knipeflågsbergen nature reserves, featuring specific locations like Getryggen, Knipeflågsryggen, and Brudarebacken in race imagery. IFK Göteborg Orientering manages the event solely with volunteers, ranging from young club members to retired individuals. It originated as Skatås X-trail, attracting 166 participants in its inaugural year, and later peaked with 1,145 registered runners by its tenth edition. In the lead-up to race day, seasoned trail runners from the club conduct guided practice runs of approximately one hour, and participants will find aid stations offering coffee and bread along the course.
