TCS Lidingöloppet is a large cross-country running event held on the island of Lidingö in Stockholm, taking place on the last weekend of September since 1965. It is the world’s largest cross-country running event, attracting over 30,000 participants annually. The main 30-kilometer race involves a 522-meter climb, presenting a significant test of strength on varied terrain. The weekend also features shorter races for adults, joggers, elite runners, and children, including a 1.7 km option for the youngest participants.
The courses utilize Lidingö’s natural landscape, emphasizing forest paths, hills, and outdoor running over urban streets. As part of the Swedish Classic Circuit, the 30 km race holds particular importance for Swedish endurance athletes. The event includes a sports fair for bib collection and training advice, and a 20-week Runner’s World training program is available, focusing on consistent running at one's own pace. The event supports charities and good causes, such as Astrid Lindgren Children’s Hospital.
