The JÁNOŠÍK Slovak Xtreme Triathlon begins with a 3.8 km swim at midnight, sending a small field into one of the more challenging long-distance triathlon formats on the XTRI World Tour. This event takes place in Slovakia in September, offering only 65 slots, and finishers receive 200 X-POINTS.
Following the swim, athletes cycle 185 km from the Orava region to Terchová, accumulating 2600 m of elevation gain across a course featuring eight climbs with 12-17% gradients. The run is a full 42 km marathon with over 3200 m of elevation, meaning the most demanding section occurs post-bike. The course crosses the birthplace of Juraj Jánošík, a Slovak national hero known as a Robin Hood figure who aided the impoverished.
