Run, Walk, & Roll for Rehab
Pink Ribbon Run 2026
The Pink Ribbon Run begins behind the Hilton Greenville on Landmark Street in Greenville, North Carolina. A certified 5K and a free 1-mile walk commence in the early afternoon. The 5K, a timed road race managed by Run the East, requires registration, while the walk offers a no-cost option to participate in the fundraiser.
The event supports local individuals undergoing treatment for breast cancer and their families. This marks the 11th year for the run, previously known as Run for the Ribbons. Participants in the 5K receive an event shirt upon registration. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in each age group, ranging from children to those 70 and older.

Mother Earth Brewing Ironclad Half-Marathon & 5k
The Mother Earth Brewing Ironclad Half-Marathon & 5k takes place in October in Kinston, North Carolina. It offers a half marathon for those seeking a longer run and a 5k for a shorter run or walk. Mother Earth Brewing is the title sponsor, and Ironclad Races Inc., a Kinston-based nonprofit, organizes the event. The race attracts a local and accessible field, not a massive one: recent half marathon fields have included just over one hundred runners to slightly more than four hundred, while the 5k has drawn from under one hundred to nearly four hundred participants.
The event aims to draw runners to Kinston and highlight the city's historic and cultural attractions. Its proceeds support local groups such as HOPE Restorations, Hugo Volunteer Fire Department, Mary’s Soup Kitchen, and other community organizations. The race also ties into local environmental efforts through a partnership with Mother Earth Foundation and Sound Rivers to install a Trash Trap on the Neuse River. This provides the weekend with a distinct small-city character: a race sponsored by a brewery, managed by a nonprofit, with funds and focus remaining within Kinston.
Good Samaritan 5K Run
The Good Samaritan 5K Run begins in Uptown Greenville, North Carolina, on Evans Street near The Scullery. This event is a ministry fundraiser for Hope of Glory Ministries, with funds supporting families throughout Pitt County, particularly those at or below the poverty level. Participants can register for a standard 5K or the Cross Training 5K, which incorporates six exercise stations along the course. Coaches from CrossFit Greenville and Rebel Fitness will lead these stations, with weight exercises adapted to individual fitness levels. Cross training runners will also be grouped into beginner, intermediate, and advanced heats.
The course route proceeds toward the Town Common, returns via 5th Street, and passes East Carolina University before looping back to the Uptown area. It is USATF certified, featuring water stations at each mile marker, timing provided by Run The East, and awards for top overall and age-group finishers in both race categories. Hope of Glory Ministries, established in 2001 as a Christ-centered nonprofit, operates a Community Food Co-op that distributes fresh and non-perishable food twice monthly, connects families with mentors, and assists them in reallocating grocery savings towards debt reduction, emergency funds, or general savings. The race day also features a post-race gathering at U.B.E., participant t-shirts, and a bib discount at The Scullery.
Happy Valley Humdinger
Happy Valley Humdinger is a Saturday-evening 5K in Happy Valley, North Carolina, situated between Lenoir and Blowing Rock. The race follows a point-to-point course: runners begin at Lapaz / Marshallberg Farm and conclude at Happy Valley Filling Station. This setup offers a journey through the valley rather than a circuitous park route.
Following the race, the venue transforms into an outdoor gathering featuring awards, craft beer, wood-fired pizza, and live music. Attendees aged 21 and over receive a complimentary beer. Quest 4 Life sponsors a Kids Run held in the evening, and complimentary shuttles return runners to the starting area parking. The race incorporates local elements, such as an official shirt designed by Image 420 of Asheville.
Sgt. Ruff's Color Run
Sgt. Ruff's Color Run is a dog-friendly 5K and 1-mile fun run in Lenoir, North Carolina. It takes place on the City of Lenoir Greenway, starting from the Lenoir Rotary Soccer Complex parking lot. The shorter race, the Pup Run, has no timing chip or age limit, while the 5K is named the Big Dawg. Before the races, America's Colors are presented, followed by the National Anthem. Both races commence with a color party.
The event benefits Shepherds for Sheepdogs, a Lenoir nonprofit that provides professionally trained service dogs to disabled veterans and first responders. All proceeds directly support the dog-and-handler teams. This marks the organization's fourth annual race and its first color run. The Pup Run features two color stations on its course, and the Big Dawg 5K has four. Participants receive a white Shepherds for Sheepdogs shirt, bandana, sunglasses, and a color bomb. Finishers are awarded a custom dog tag medal. Leashed dogs are permitted, and costumes are encouraged. Runners should wear old shoes, as the powder may extend beyond their shirts.
JMB Memorial Run
The JMB Memorial Run starts and finishes at South Lenoir High School in Deep Run, North Carolina, with races based from the campus on Old Highway 11. It is a Saturday morning memorial event for Joe Mike Baker, built around a main race and a short Fun Run.
The event raises scholarship money for local high school students, so the field is tied closely to the school and the surrounding community. The listing names a 5K and a Fun Run, though the posted distance labels are inconsistent: the Fun Run is listed as 2K but also 1.6 km, while the 5K listing also shows 8 km. Awards go to the top male and female runners in each age group.
Beaufort Bridge Run 5K & 1+ Mile Dog Strut
The Beaufort Bridge Run combines a 5K with a 1-plus-mile Dog Strut in Beaufort, North Carolina. Runners, walkers, and dogs participate in a fall fundraising event organized by the Beaufort Lions Club. It begins on Turner Street in the morning, sending participants over the town’s two bridges. This course offers a unique perspective, resembling a short tour above the water and the historic waterfront rather than a typical neighborhood 5K.
The course is the main draw, being the only event that utilizes both the high-rise Gallants Channel (Grayden Paul) Bridge and the Turner Street Bridge. The participants range from competitive and casual runners to first-timers, families, kids, and those walking the Dog Strut with their pets. The Lions Club has hosted local fundraising races for twenty years, with past events including the Glow Run and the Front Street Gallop. The Beaufort Bridge Run now attracts participants from eastern North Carolina and further afield for a small-town race focused on charitable causes.

Beau's Buddies Turkey Trot for Tots
Beau's Buddies Turkey Trot for Tots is a Thanksgiving Day race in Greenville, North Carolina, featuring a 5K run/walk at 8:00 a.m. and a 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk at 8:45 a.m. Fleet Feet of Greenville hosts the event, with race-day registration available early in the morning before the 5K begins.
The 5K follows a newly certified course and uses electronic chip timing provided by Run the East LLC. All proceeds benefit families in eastern North Carolina facing cancer, making the morning as much about a local cause as the run. Packet pickup is at Fleet Feet in Greenville, with race logistics centered around the host running shop.
Santa Dash 5k Run & 1 Mile Walk Presented by Fleet Feet Greenville & Orthopaedics East
The Santa Dash begins on Cromwell Drive in Greenville's Lynndale Subdivision, offering a neighborhood atmosphere before participants in holiday attire head out. This December community race in Greenville, North Carolina, features a 5k run for those seeking the full distance and a 1-mile walk suitable for families, casual participants, and anyone preferring a shorter route. The race starts at 9:00 am and is presented by Fleet Feet Greenville with Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine Center.
The race format is straightforward: approximately 5 kilometers for the run and about 1.6 kilometers for the walk. Participants are encouraged to wear festive clothing, making Santa hats and holiday outfits an integral part of the event. Proceeds benefit Riley's Army, a local organization supporting families of children battling pediatric cancer. The event is also part of a larger Greenville race series focused on donating to community-serving nonprofits.
