The Two Mile Manitou Monster Lake Swim is an open-water race on Lower Long Lake, also called Long Lake, in Chippewa County, Wisconsin. The event is based at Morris-Erickson County Park near New Auburn, starts in the morning, and gives swimmers a two-hour window to cover the two-mile course. It is open to adults, and every swimmer must use a Safe Swimmer Buoy.
Lower Long Lake sits in the Chippewa Moraine, a glacial area of hills, bogs, wetlands, and irregular lakes north and east of Bloomer. The lake and adjoining Herde Lake cover 1,089 acres and reach depths of 101 feet. The route has been used for dozens of previous open-water swims, traditionally held every July before COVID. Camping is available at the county park, and the day usually continues with awards and an optional buffet lunch at Max's, just south of the beach.
