4 on the 4th is a 4-mile road race in Endwell, New York, held annually on Independence Day, starting from Visions Federal Credit Union Headquarters on Country Club Road. The race begins in the morning and accommodates both runners and walkers, offering a virtual participation option for those unable to attend in person. Children and strollers are permitted, and younger participants can enter without charge, positioning it as a family-oriented holiday event rather than exclusively for competitive runners.
The course crosses local roads through residential areas and parks. It features inclines early on, providing a challenging start, and concludes with a swift, level finish in the Visions HQ parking lot. All finishers receive medals, and the event is developing a four-part collectible medal series in anticipation of its tenth anniversary. Post-race amenities include refreshments, ice cream, an Athlete Village, cash prizes for top finishers in overall and age categories, and a Best Dressed award for the most spirited red, white, and blue attire. Local emergency and public safety organizations serve as charity partners, such as the Endicott Auxiliary Police, Union Volunteer Emergency Squad, and the Endwell Fire Department's O.L. Davis Fire Company.
