The Lake Wyola Road Race is a short morning race and walk held at Lake Wyola State Park in Shutesbury, Massachusetts. The main event covers 4.8 miles, beginning at the Lake Wyola Association Hall on Shore Drive. A separate 1.5-mile fun run and walk offers a shorter option. Walkers start first, followed by runners, and the fun run begins shortly after, making the event suitable for families and racers alike.
The 4.8-mile course circles the lake counterclockwise on country roads, largely shaded by trees. The initial half is paved and features a challenging uphill section. The latter half transitions mostly to dirt roads, with a predominantly downhill path leading to a flat finish, including a brief paved segment. The fun run follows an out-and-back route on Lakeview Road and Wendell Road, incorporating about a mile on dirt or gravel and a short climb around the halfway point. Post-race, participants receive complimentary refreshments. Awards are presented to top finishers in both the run and walk categories, with separate awards for younger fun-run participants. A raffle concludes the awards ceremony.
