The Andouille Run/Walk takes place in LaPlace, Louisiana, coinciding with festival day on US Highway 51. All participants begin and end at Thomas F. Daley Memorial Park. Two distance options are available: a 2-mile run/walk or a 5-mile run/walk, both held on the same morning. This event is in its 50th year, establishing it as a local tradition.
The course is simple: choose either the shorter or longer distance, depart from the park, and return to it. Following the race, attendees receive a post-race meal fitting for an Andouille event, featuring jambalaya or red beans, soft drinks, cold beer, fruit, and music. Costumes are encouraged as the race occurs during spooky season, and each participant gets a festival admission ticket. Proceeds benefit Keep St. John Beautiful, a volunteer committee focused on parish beautification.
