About
A Walk in the Park for Pediatric Cancer is a short charity walk at Turner Park in Omaha, Nebraska. The event uses a roughly one-third-mile oval, allowing participants to walk between 1 and 3 miles. It is connected to Butter Brickle Day and features an adult walk and a kids walk for children ages 1 to 15. Proceeds benefit the Children's Nebraska Pediatric Oncology Department.
The course is straightforward and family-oriented, with participants looping the oval instead of a long road route. Following the walk, the event becomes a free family Ice Cream Day, offering children's entertainment, outdoor games, and complimentary ice cream. The Butter Brickle theme originates from Omaha, where Butter Brickle Ice Cream was invented in the 1920s. U2CANRUN organizes this event, along with other Omaha-area races and walks like the Lucky Bucket Run, Taco Run 5K, Holiday Hustle 5K, and Cafe & Cacao events.
