Bike the 915 is a cycling challenge connected to El Paso’s 915 area code. Participants log miles during the first half of June. The standard individual goal is 91.5 miles. Teams can divide larger targets: 91.5 miles for a pair, 915 miles for a larger group, or 9,150 km for teams of 25 or more. It is not a single start-line race; riders select their own routes and ride on their own schedule.
Friends, families, and co-workers can form teams, with each team limited to 50 participants. Miles can be accumulated from outdoor rides tracked by apps or watches, and stationary-bike mileage counts as well, including a 915-mile spinning option. Riders submit results after each ride via the event site, and all participants receive a cycling jersey and medal. In-person group rides might be included, requiring a waiver, while out-of-town participants can have packets shipped during the first week of the challenge.
