BTC Vulcan Run

The BTC Vulcan Run is a Birmingham road race featuring a 10K and a 5K. The 10K begins at 8:00 a.m., with the 5K starting five minutes later. Runners age 6 and older can enter the 10K, which holds the RRCA Alabama 10K State Championship title. The race originated in the 1970s as the Bicentennial Run, attracting 221 participants. It has since passed fifty editions. The event draws a significant crowd from the Southeast road-racing scene. Participants who register early enough receive a gender-neutral shirt produced for the event.
