Burton Memorial Day 5k

The Burton Memorial Day 5k begins and ends at Atherton High School in Burton, Michigan. The run starts shortly after the National Anthem, with the walk beginning a few minutes later. This Memorial Day morning event offers separate run, walk, kids’ half-mile, and virtual options, and it is the second event in the Burton Race Series. The in-person course is closed to traffic and USATF-certified, designed for a fast 5K through Burton. It is suitable for runners aiming for a personal best, as well as walkers and families. The event began in the mid-1990s, and its proceeds benefit local organizations such as high school extracurricular programs, Bendle Tiger Youth Football, Bentley Robotics, Atherton Theatre Group, Burton VFW Post 2777, the Burton Veterans Memorial, and the Burton Police Department. Virtual 5K participants will receive the Burton Memorial Day medal and credit toward the Burton Race Series medal.
