The Dam Duck Race is a 5K run held on Quemahoning Dam Road in Hollsopple, Pennsylvania. A children’s event is also available for runners 12 and younger. This race is part of Dam Duck weekend at the Que, beginning at 7 AM, with the run starting the day before other duck-themed activities.
The race supports Joey’s Jackets, a water-safety initiative established after Joey drowned at Quemahoning; his life jacket was on his paddle board at the time. The organization distributes life jackets, maintains loaner stands in multiple parks, and conducts outreach at schools, churches, and other groups to discuss water safety. A ducky dive later in the day adds a local tradition to the weekend, but the event's core is a community 5K linked to a practical effort to improve water safety.
