Do the Haven Hustle 5K

The Haven Hustle 5K begins at the old State First National Bank building, 300 Olive Street in Texarkana, Arkansas. The run starts at 8:00 AM Central. This 3.1-mile downtown race benefits Haven Homes of Texarkana, a faith-based nonprofit assisting men and women in Texarkana and the Four States area facing addiction, alcoholism, drug abuse, and difficult life circumstances. The course winds through downtown Texarkana, passing Saint Edwards Catholic Church, Beech Street Baptist Church, First United Methodist Church, the railyard, the Stateline Federal Building and Post Office, the Perot Theater, Hotel Grim, Silvermoon on Broad, City Hall, war memorials, Arts Park, and murals of local figures like Scott Joplin. Proceeds from the race fund Haven Homes programs, such as safe housing, work and service initiatives, counseling, spiritual guidance, recovery centers for men and women, a transitional home for women exiting the Bowie County Women's Center, and sober-living homes for program graduates. The weekend also features Friday night packet pickup and a car show at Beech Street Baptist Church, complete with food trucks, games, trophies, and prizes.
