Fairfax USA Days Bridge The Community 5K

The Fairfax USA Days Bridge The Community 5K is an annual 5K held in Fairfax, Iowa, starting at the Fairfax Regional Sports Complex on Linn Street. The race begins at 8:00 AM, features professional timing, and publishes race statistics by day's end. It is designed for both community runners and competitive age-group racers, offering prizes for top male and female finishers across several age categories. Check-in occurs under the pavilion adjacent to the concession stand, with race proceeds benefiting Fairfax Lions Club community initiatives. The course begins in the east lot of the sports complex, featuring a mostly flat profile with a blend of paved or solid surface sections and gravel roads. Participants will proceed onto Fairfax Road, utilize Southview for an initial out-and-back segment, then travel through Church, Reynolds, Railroad, Park, and Linn before connecting with the trail near the ball diamond. The route includes a passage by the flags at the Vets Memorial, a loop around the trail, and a return toward the east parking lot finish. Signage and volunteers will be present at turns. A staffed water station is located at the halfway point, and a free, untimed Kids Fun Run follows the awards ceremony, providing a short event for younger participants.
