The Freedom Run 5K at Tradition is a 5K race held in early July, starting at Tradition Square in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The main race begins at 7:00 a.m., with a kids run following an hour later. This chip-timed event, organized by the Southern Timing Foundation, a registered nonprofit, offers participants performance shirts, finisher medals, food, and a patriotic morning around the square.
The 5K course is USATF-certified and runs through Tradition, featuring a fast, flat layout suitable for achieving personal bests. Southern Timing offers live tracking, mile splits, individual result pages, downloadable finisher certificates, and a short finish-line video. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in overall, masters, and age-group categories (10-and-under to 70-plus) for both men and women, catering to children, competitive age-group runners, and casual holiday-weekend participants.
