The Halloween Trick or Trot Run is an annual Halloween-themed run in Los Angeles, held at Palisades Park. Participants can select a 5K, 10K, or half marathon. A family 1-mile fun run and a virtual option are also available. This event is organized as a smaller, private group run with limited waves, meaning entries may close once a wave is full. Running or walking is permitted, all paces are welcome, and individuals under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian.
The event offers a more casual atmosphere than a chip-timed road race. Timing is optional; runners can use an app to track their progress, submit results online, or request assistance from coordinators with timing. Race bibs are distributed on race day, while shirts and other merchandise are mailed directly. Finishers are awarded a medal, a towel or other giveaway, online results, and a completion certificate. The Halloween theme is straightforward: participants receive candy post-run, and the event facilitates connections with local run clubs. For charitable giving, each mile completed after the race results in a $1 donation.
