Run near the Blue Ridge Mountains. The shorter course offers single track trails along Carrick Creek, climbing toward Pinnacle Mountain before a downhill loop. It's an introduction for novice trail runners. The longer course (17K) follows the same route initially but climbs nearly 2000 feet over the first 5 miles. You'll work to conquer several gaps and reach Pinnacle Mountain’s high point. Descending, you're rewarded with views from Bald Rock and other overlooks, with roots and rocks keeping you on your toes. Finishers will find food and drinks to replenish their bodies.
