The Lady Raider 5K is Randall High’s girls cross-country 3.1-mile race in the Texas Panhandle, with one documented stop at the Canyon Invitational in Canyon, Texas. That meet drew about 1,200 runners across school divisions, and the 5K race ended on the Canyon High track.
Randall entered as the two-time defending Class 5A state champion and won with 38 points, ahead of host Canyon and Tascosa. Karyss Betzen led Randall in third place in 18:28.57, while the team’s top five averaged 19:10.32. The Lady Raiders had won 24 of their previous 25 meets, and coach Rebecca James summed up the approach simply: “For us it’s about competing every week.”
