Loons Pennant Race

The Loons Pennant Race begins and ends at Dow Diamond in Midland, Michigan, home of the Great Lakes Loons. This summer evening event offers three straightforward choices: a 5K run, a 5K walk, or a 1 Mile run. The shorter race starts first, with the 5K events commencing shortly thereafter. Packet pick-up is available outside the ballpark in the late afternoon. The race proceeds regardless of weather conditions. The appeal lies equally in the baseball-night atmosphere and the running. Registration includes a lawn ticket for a subsequent Loons game, allowing participants to finish, change, and remain at the stadium. The event coincides with Grit Night, featuring a Detroit Lions theme, and also aligns with Foodie Friday promotions offering discounted hot dogs, chips, ice cream sandwiches, and soda. It marks the third event in the Midland Triple Challenge, which also includes Dow RunWalk and Run the River. Separate Triple 5K and Triple 1 Mile options are available, consolidating the series into a single registration with additional merchandise.
