Lynchburg Road Runners Club Summer Track Series

The Lynchburg Road Runners Club Summer Track Series consists of low-key Tuesday evening track races held in June at the University of Lynchburg Track in Lynchburg, Virginia. The series focuses on short, straightforward track events, including sprints and middle-distance races like the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m, with longer options at 1 mile, 2 miles, and 5,000m. Most distances are in meters, with the exception of the 1-mile and 2-mile races. Entry is one dollar per evening, with a slightly higher fee for the 5,000m race. The series is open to participants aged 1 to 101, including fast and slow milers, sprinters, and first-time runners. Children aged 4 and under have their own 100m races. Other events are divided into open races, age-group races, and 5,000m heats determined by anticipated finishing times. Age-group ribbons are awarded, and a makeup Tuesday is scheduled at the end of June to account for potential weather-related or other cancellations.
