MammothMarch Texas is a 20-mile hiking challenge in Dinosaur Valley State Park, located southwest of Dallas/Fort Worth and northwest of Austin. It takes place on a February weekend, designed for walkers seeking a long day on trail rather than a running race.
The course is a single loop through hilly, rugged limestone terrain and follows the Paluxy River. The park offers a unique feature: dinosaur footprints are visible in the riverbed, preserved in mud from an ancient sea. Participants who finish receive medals. Many attendees extend their visit into a park weekend, with options for camping, picnicking, mountain biking, swimming, fishing, paddling, wildlife viewing, horseback riding, or visiting the interpretive center.
