Old Dominion is a 100-mile endurance run held in Fort Valley, Virginia, on the first weekend in June. Since 1979, runners have gathered here to test themselves. The challenge is straightforward: complete the course within 24 hours to earn a silver buckle.
The route includes pavement, gravel roads, singletrack, ATV trails, logging roads, rocks, streams, and mud. It is not strictly a trail or road ultra. The race maintains an old-school ultrarunning atmosphere: it is run entirely by volunteers, has no sponsors, and offers 23 aid stations and crew access points. While providing practical support, it allows runners to focus on the clock and the course.
