Pace for Peace: Run for Refugees & Sudan is a 5K race in Boise, Idaho, taking place at Ann Morrison Park in late May. The race begins in the afternoon and concludes at sunset. It is part of the Pace for Peace series, a project led by students and young professionals that utilizes short races to connect local runners with refugee communities.
The event is structured around Boise’s history with refugees. Since 1975, the city has welcomed over 30,000 refugees from more than 50 countries, resulting in one of the highest refugee populations per capita in the U.S. The race intends to assist refugees in familiarizing themselves with the city, maintaining physical activity, and interacting with Boise residents who are already active runners or walkers. Additionally, it aims to raise awareness of humanitarian concerns abroad, such as those in Sudan.
