Pink Lady Walk 5K Race

The Pink Lady Walk 5K begins at Big Spring Memorial Park’s Duck Pond in Athens, Alabama, located at 350 Market Street E. This annual 5K run/walk has been held since 2014, taking place in the morning with an entry fee of $25 prior to the late registration price increase. The event supports breast cancer awareness and provides direct financial aid for individuals facing cancer-related expenses. Pink Lady Walk reports assisting 25 breast cancer survivors, one child with cancer, Hospice of Limestone County, the Patient Assistance Fund at The Southern Cancer Center in Huntsville, and the Joy to Life Foundation in Montgomery. Aid is distributed through three programs: Recipient Direct, Bill Direct, and Pharmacy Direct. Local businesses can sponsor the race by funding the event, receiving race packets, displaying logos on shirts, and including items in registration bags.
