The Quad Cities Criterium Running Wild Mile is a one-mile road race in the Village of East Davenport, held on Memorial Day as part of the Quad Cities Criterium cycling program. Runners follow the same criterium course as the cyclists, and the mile race is scheduled in the afternoon between professional cycling events, ensuring an engaged crowd is present when runners begin.
The start line is at Christie Street and East 12th Street, with packet pickup located in the Village near Lindsay Park. The race welcomes participants of all ages and skill levels. Some runners compete for prize money, while others participate in a costume contest. Many runners are simply there to achieve a fast mile time amidst a day of bike racing. Post-race amenities include hotdogs and Thirsty Vaquero, along with a drink ticket for Raccoon Motel. Race shirts are available as an optional purchase during registration.
