The Run for Refugees 5K is a morning 5K held in Durham, North Carolina. It begins and ends at Miracle Park on Morehead Avenue. Proceeds benefit World Relief Durham, an organization assisting refugees and immigrants resettled in the U.S. This timed community run welcomes participants of all levels. Adult and youth entries include professional timing and a race shirt. Children aged 5 and under may participate with a registered adult at no charge, without timing or a shirt.
The course follows the American Tobacco Trail. Parking is available at the South Parking Deck at American Tobacco Campus. This is the third year for the Run for Refugees 5K, continuing Durham’s tradition of public events for newcomers and their families, such as Durham Refugee Day held each June. World Relief Durham also engages local small businesses and vendors, making the race morning a gathering for supporters, new residents, families, and community partners, alongside the 5K run.
