Run For The Blue Dallas is a free July run and walk based at Trinity Groves on Singleton Boulevard in Dallas. It offers 10K, 5K, and 1 Mile options, with walkers and runners both welcome. Entry includes a race bib, and runners who want chip timing can add it for a fee. The event supports fallen and injured police officers and their families, with donations going directly to the Dallas-based Blue Guardian Foundation.
The routes use the Trinity Levee Trail, mostly on paved paths with some unpaved sections, and they pass views of the Dallas skyline, the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, and the Margaret McDermott Bridge. The race was founded after an ambush on Dallas police officers, and its program includes ceremonies honoring officers who were killed or injured. The Blue Guardian Foundation provides financial help to law enforcement officers nationwide after work-related illness, serious injury, loss of income, life-threatening illness, death in the family, or other catastrophic events. Volunteers help make the event work, and some volunteer slots still allow people to join the run or walk.
