The Run It Back 5K Run/Walk is a community 5K held at Zoo Miami in Miami, beginning on SW 152nd Street within the zoo's property. The event is currently postponed; a new date will be announced. Registered runners can remain entered for the rescheduled race or opt for a virtual 5K. Its purpose is direct and local: supporting Black-owned businesses in South Dade. The South Branch of the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce and the Historic Society are involved as organizers.
The course winds through Zoo Miami, offering views of lions, giraffes, and elephants during the 5K. Runners can compete as part of a team or aim for an individual time. All participants receive a branded T-shirt and a participation medal. The top three runners in each age category receive placement medals. The event also includes a send-off, DJ music, vendors, and a group yoga session to conclude the morning.
