Running with the Bulls - Alaska sends runners and walkers through a working farm where the route passes more than 70 musk oxen. The fundraiser offers a 1K Kid's Fun Run for children ages 0-7, plus a 5K run/walk and a 10K run, with registration opening January 1 and race shirts included with entry. It is a long-running FUNdraiser, with proceeds covering event costs and supporting the nonprofit behind the event.
The in-person course weaves through pastures, reaches parts of the farm that visitors normally cannot enter, and gives wide views of the Chugach and Talkeetna mountain ranges. None of the course is paved, and the farm route includes hills, so the longer distances can feel moderate to challenging depending on pace and goals. The race draws children, first-timers, walkers, club runners, and other participants across ages and skill levels, with light snacks after the race. A virtual option lets people complete a 5K or 10K over a week by running, walking, biking, hiking, swimming, or choosing another “oxtivity,” with shirt shipping included and remaining proceeds going to the fundraiser.
