The Dam 5 Miler begins at Center Hill Recreation Area in Lancaster, Tennessee. The route incorporates Center Hill Dam itself, rather than just having it visible. This is a chip-timed five-mile run or walk, starting at 8:00 a.m. CST. Both runners and walkers are welcome. Aid stations are positioned approximately every 1.5 to 2 miles. All finishers will receive a medal, and race shirts are provided to finishers. Those who register late will receive a shirt only if supplies remain.
The course departs the recreation area, crosses Center Hill Dam, and proceeds into Edgar Evins State Park towards the Visitor Center Office. Within the park, the road is flanked by a native pollinator corridor. The route follows the same general path for both the outbound and return legs. The course is not entirely flat, featuring inclines in several sections. Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, the top three males and females in 10-year age groups, and the Masters (40+) and Grand Masters (50+) categories.
