The Joe Lutz North Hill 5K

The Joe Lutz North Hill 5K starts and finishes at 760 Elma Street in Akron’s North Hill neighborhood, at the North Hill Community Development Corporation. It is a June road 5K with both adult and youth run/walk divisions, and it is part of the Akron Promise Race Series. The race honors Joe Lutz, a longtime track and field coach, football coach, and teacher. Proceeds go to Akron North High School Athletics and the AECHS Running Club, so the field is tied closely to local school sports and the North Hill community rather than built around a destination course or elite race format.
