The Tom Donnelly Hall of Fame 5k is a Friday evening Labor Day weekend race in Buffalo, New York, along Elmwood Avenue and Bidwell Parkway. It begins at 6:30 p.m. outside the Jack Rabbit Restaurant at 1010 Elmwood Avenue, with a route organizers describe as PR-friendly. The race offers a lower-cost high school student entry without a shirt, allowing younger runners to participate alongside regular 5K racers. It is part of a local Triple Crown Series, which also includes the Queen City Mile and the Veterans Race.
The course runs south on Elmwood Avenue to North Street, turns west toward Symphony Circle, proceeds onto Richmond Avenue, then returns via Bidwell Parkway, finishing just before Ashland Avenue. The race is closely connected to the Western New York Running Hall of Fame; inductions occur after the 5K, followed by the awards presentation. The first 300 registered runners get technical shirts, and age-group awards are presented for categories from 14-and-under to 90-plus. Following the races, the event includes a Parkway party with music, food, and drink.
