To Grandmother's House We Go 2026

To Grandmother's House We Go takes runners into Brown's Woods on dirt trails near Des Moines. This fall trail race offers 5K, 10K, and 15K distances, all beginning at 9:00 AM. The terrain features both singletrack and double-track paths. The race structure is straightforward: the 5K completes the outer loop once, the 10K twice, and the 15K three times. Walkers are welcome, particularly for the shorter distances. The course remains open for three hours. Proceeds benefit Des Moines dirt trails, the Stewards of Browns Woods, and the Capital Striders. Dogs are prohibited on the course during the event due to insurance regulations.
