The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk near Pittsburgh is a 3.1-mile event held at Canonsburg Memorial Stadium in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. It takes place in September and is open to runners and walkers. Registration is available for adults, first responders and military members, teenagers, and children. The event is part of the Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series. It was created to honor Stephen Siller, an FDNY firefighter who died on September 11, 2001, after running through the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel toward the Twin Towers. This Pittsburgh-area event is in its sixth year. It honors those killed on 9/11 and raises funds for Tunnel to Towers programs that support first responders and military members.
