The World Championship Pack Burro Race, running since 1949, challenges participants to run alongside a burro carrying a pack, mirroring old mining practices. Choose the short course or the long course, which climbs to Mosquito Pass and back. The long route has an elevation change of 3,232', reaching 13,185' at its halfway point.
