Straddie Salute Triathlon Festival
Ubicación de inicio
Point Lookout Oval
Brisbane, QLD
Sobre esta carrera
Point Lookout Oval serves as the center for a Multisport Island Style weekend on North Stradbroke Island, Minjerribah, with Home Beach nearby for the swimming legs. The Straddie Salute Triathlon Festival has the character of a community event focused on inclusivity and camaraderie, operated on a not-for-profit basis by QYAC and Redland City Council. It combines triathlon, ocean swimming, and trail running while maintaining a local, sandy-feet ambiance.
On the course, the trail runs traverse native bushland offering coastal views. The triathlons begin with ocean swims at Home Beach, followed by bike courses across the island's varied terrain and runs through Point Lookout. The off-road event features technical trails and sand sections for adventurous participants; the on-road version provides a quicker, more even path for novices and consistent racers. Beginners, seasoned athletes, children, and their supporters will be present around Point Lookout Oval, contributing to a lively festival atmosphere rather than a purely competitive race environment.
