Sobre esta carrera
El TCS Sydney Mini Marathon forma parte del calendario de carreras de asfalto de Sídney, que también incluye el Sydney Marathon y un 10K. Este evento tiene su origen en The Host City Marathon, que se organizó por primera vez como prueba olímpica. Ahora, el fin de semana de la carrera suele ser a finales de agosto. El maratón cuenta con la Platinum Label de World Athletics, y Sídney es parte de los World Marathon Majors, atrayendo tanto a corredores populares como a atletas de élite internacionales.
El maratón empieza en North Sydney, cruza el Sydney Harbour Bridge, pasa por Pyrmont y The Rocks, sigue por Oxford Street y Anzac Parade hacia Kingsford, y vuelve por Moore Park y Centennial Park para acabar en la Sydney Opera House. Modificaron el recorrido para hacerlo más llano, y en las últimas ediciones se han marcado los tiempos de maratón más rápidos de Australia. Ocho corredores han completado todos los Sydney Marathon y se les conoce como los Blue Line Legends.
